City-Affiliated Organizations

The City of Allen offers a variety of ways for citizens to get involved. Most of these groups are affiliated with a specific department, while a few operate as nonprofits to benefit ongoing community interests.

Block Leader Program
Learn how to spread the message of water conservation to your neighbors in our Block Leader Program.

Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T)
Train in fire safety, search and rescue, and disaster medical operations to help your neighborhood or workplace in case of a large-scale emergency by joining our Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T)

Citizens Fire Academy
Residents experience an inside look at the Allen Fire Department during the 10-week Citizens Fire Academy.

Citizens Police Academy
Residents learn about the Allen Police Department, including criminal law, patrol tactics and surveillance techniques during the 12-week Citizens Police Academy. Graduates are eligible to train for two additional volunteer groups, Volunteers in Policing and Citizens on Patrol.

Allen Public Safety Recovery Fund
The Allen Public Safety Recovery Fund ensures funds are available and appropriately dispersed to public safety personnel in cases where emergency financial assistance is needed.

Allen Parks Foundation
Assists in enhancing the Allen park system and recreational facilities through expanded development and recreational programming. Allen Parks Foundation

Friends of the Allen Public Library
The Friends of the Allen Public Library is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the Allen Public Library through funds and programs.

Keep Allen Beautiful
Keep Allen Beautiful is a designated city board supported by staff in the City of Allen Solid Waste Division. KAB offers a variety of volunteer involvement programs, annual events, and green initiatives.
