Community Events

Keep Allen Beautiful hosts a variety of community events each year that are designed to benefit the environmental and beautification goals of the organization. Several of the events are hosted in conjunction with annual educational activities and often include opportunities for volunteers to participate in community beautification efforts.
VARIOUS DATES Electronic Recycling Days
Periodically throughout the year, Keep Allen Beautiful and the City of Allen provide a safe, environmentally-responsible way for residents to dispose of unwanted or obsolete computers and small electronics. For more information, visit our Electronics Recycling page.

APRIL Earthfest
Earthfest is a community celebration of the great outdoors. This family-friendly event features hands-on environmental activities, nature walks, bird watching, kayaking and canoeing demonstrations, wildlife presentations and more. Get details from our Earthfest Flyer or Earthfest Facebook Page.
Keep Allen Beautiful Earthfest
APRIL/MAY Great American Cleanup
This is the largest cleanup event in Collin County! Residents can drop off trash, computers, household goods, yard waste, cardboard, shoes, cell phones eyeglasses and more. Items will be reused or recycled if possible. Paper shredding services are also available.

City employees are on hand to help unload residents' items. Middle and high school students who need volunteer hours are encouraged to participate. See the event flyer for more details.
Keep Allen Beautiful Great American Cleanup
SEPTEMBER Educator Expo
This event gives educators an opportunity to learn about the free educational programs offered through the City of Allen and local partners. They also have an opportunity to meet face-to-face with exhibitors that specialize in specific TEKS requirements and can customize lesson plans for in or out of the classroom. Attendees also receive a copy of our annual Education & Outreach Guide.
 SEPTEMBER National Planting Day
KAB and Allen Garden Club host Allen's National Planting Day. The event celebrates the value and power of native species in restoring ecological balance to the environment while creating greener, more beautiful communities. On this day residents are encouraged to make a special effort to plant native species at home and join a volunteer effort to beautify the community. Watch for details about this years beautification project. More information is available by contacting the Allen Garden Club.
 
 NOVEMBER Allen Recycle's Day
This annual event provides resident the opportunity to bring items for reuse or recycling to the City Hall parking lot. Participating organizations are on hand to collect these items. Middle and high school students are encouraged to receive volunteer hours by helping operate the event. For more information, view our As part of Allen Recycles Day, KAB holds a Recycled Art Contest for Allen ISD students, grades K-12. Winners are recognized at a City Council meeting.
