The City of Allen Parks and Recreation Department and Public Art Committee will hold a Public Art Dedication Ceremony for the "A is for Allen" artwork. The ceremony will be held in front of the La Quinta Inn & Suites, 1220 Central Expressway N. and begin at 10 a.m.

Created by artist Gordon Huether, "A is for Allen" was commissioned in 2012 as a way to enhance the existing median landscape improvement project for Exchange Parkway between Greenville Avenue and US 75 Central Expressway. The sculpture incorporates native stone to honor our local history, as well as stacked glass, powder coated and stainless steel, to represent our current dynamic and modern community. The full scope of the piece spans across the medians beginning on the US 75 overpass on Exchange Parkway and continues to the west intersection of Greenville Avenue.
