Meets in the Council Chambers located on the 1st floor of Allen City Hall. The Allen Type B Community Development Corporation (CDC) Board is seeking input from Allen residents on how to spend proceeds from the CDC’s half-cent sales tax through a city-wide town hall meeting. The half-cent sales tax became effective on October 1, 1996, and the CDC Board was formed on November 18 of the same year to oversee the spending of the sales tax revenue. These funds can only be spent on land, buildings, equipment and improvements which are suitable for professional and amateur athletics, entertainment and tourism, parks and public spaces, transportation and other projects which promote new or expanded business enterprises.
