Become a member of the Allen Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) by attending the upcoming training course that starts Sept. 26. The 20-hour course provides training in all areas of basic disaster response.
With training in fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization and disaster medical operations, CERT members are prepared to help their neighborhoods or workplaces following an event that requires large-scale, immediate emergency response prior to the arrival of first responders.
The upcoming training will take place every Thursday, Sept. 26 through November 14, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the Allen Central Fire Station, Ron Gentry Training Center, 310 Century Parkway. The course concludes with a disaster simulation exercise on Saturday, November 16 from 8 a.m. to noon.
