The City of Allen is still observing Stage 3 Water Restrictions as part of the Water Conservation and Drought Contingency and Water Emergency Response Plan. Remember these tips as we head into Spring.
Lawns may only be watered on the allowed watering day designated by neighborhood - see the map for your area.
Under the current restrictions, planting or sodding of landscape is limited to new construction only. For existing commercial or residential properties, no variances will be granted. Shrubs, landscape beds, foundations or trees (within 10 foot radius of trunk) may be watered additionally with soaker hose, by hand-held hose, or dedicated drip zone up to 2 hours any day, so long as no runoff is occurring. Runoff of any kind may result in a fine.
Through March 31, Stage 3 watering with sprinklers or irrigation systems are only allowed once every two weeks. From April 1 - October 31, Stage 3 watering with sprinklers or irrigation systems is allowed one day per week, designated by neighborhood, but not between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
