1. What properties will be affected?

Construction will occur along Main Street from US 75 to Allen Drive. There will also be construction on Bonham from Main Street to McDermott.

2. Where do I go if I have an issue that needs resolving?

The City of Allen will have a construction inspector available throughout the project. Residents are encouraged to call the inspector or the City of Allen project manager with concerns. Please do not speak with the contractor or workers directly. City of Allen staff contact information:

3. Will I ever be denied access to my home?

The City of Allen has instructed the contractor to maintain driveway or sidewalk access to all homes at all times throughout construction. Street or alley closures may be necessary for short periods of time to facilitate construction. In neither case will both the street and alley serving a residence be closed at the same time. Residents will be given 48-hour notice of any anticipated closings.

4. Who is the contractor and how were they selected?

The contractor for this project is Jim Bowman Construction. The City of Allen selects a contractor by not only cost, but also based on the ability to perform the work, reputation and their previous work experience.

5. Will the construction cause damage to my property or cost me anything?

Grass will be replaced with a like kind that is as good or better than what currently exists. The contractor is required to fix or replace anything disturbed on a residence’s property.

6. Will US Mail service or school bus service be affected?

The City of Allen is in close contact with both the Post Office and Allen ISD to make sure that these services are affected as little as possible. In some instances, temporary mailboxes may be used, but USPS service will not be disrupted.
