Rain Barrel Rebate
Why waste tap water
watering plants when rain water is free and does the same job?
All you have to do is harvest it! Rain barrels are handy ways
to store free rain water from your roof top to water your plants
with on a dry day. A rebate of up to $25 each for up to two rain
barrels is available through the H2Ome Improvement Rebate
Program.

Low Flow Toilets and Water Efficient
Washing Machines
Toilets and clothes washers are generally the two highest users
of water inside a home, using about 48% of water that enters your
home.
Through
the H2Ome Improvement Rebate Program, City of Allen residents
can receive up to $100 for replacing an existing high-volume toilet
with a new, qualifying Low Flow Toilet. Low flow models
use 1.6 gallons of water or less per flush instead of the 3-7
gallons used by older toilets. An average family of four uses
over 25,000 gallons of water a year just flushing the toilet.
Getting rid of your old water-wasting toilet saves you water and
money.

The H2Ome
Improvement Rebate Program offers rebates of $75, $100, or
$125 to residents that purchase a qualifying water efficient
clothes washer. The less water the new washer uses, the higher
the rebate. Efficient clothes washers use much less than the 40 gallons per load used by
traditional washers. The average family of four washes about 400
loads of laundry each year, using about 16,000 gallons of water.
A water efficient clothes washer can yield significant water savings!

Pressure Reducing Valve Rebate
High water pressures can waste a lot of water. Reducing overall
water pressure to your home is a water conserving measure that
can save water and cut your water bill. Only a licensed plumber
that is registered in the City of Allen can install a Pressure
Reducing Valve (PRV) for your home. A rebate of up to $125 is
available to eligible residents who install a PRV to reduce the
pressure to their home to a set amount. Eligible homes must have
a water pressure over 80psi according to the City
Water Pressure Map (select Public Works and Water Pressure
Distribution). The home must have been built prior to 2002, when
Building Inspection began mandatory PRV installation inspections
for homes with over 80psi water pressure, and the home must not
already have a PRV.
