The City of Allen has hyper chlorinated all of its pools as a preventative action against the cryptosporidium outbreak. The chlorinated water used for the Celebration Park Sprayground is replaced weekly and the holding tanks are also cleaned. Information received from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) through the National Swimming Pool Foundation confirms that we have appropriately treated our facilities and the City will take further preventative measures as conditions warrant. If you are interested in specific details regarding treatment protocols, please call the Parks and Recreation Administrative Offices during regular business hours at 214.509.4700.
Environmental Services inspects all HOA pools. If you have questions about your HOA pool, please contact the HOA management company.
You can protect others by not swimming if you are experiencing diarrhea (this is essential for children in diapers). Swimming is not recommended for at least 2 weeks after diarrhea stops.
For additional information about preventing Cryptosporidiosis, see the CDC website.
Environmental Services is responsible for routine inspections, education, and monitoring of all food facilities including: restaurants, daycare centers, schools, grocers, mobile food venders and temporary food facilities. The inspection scores of food facilities are based on the following 100-point system:
