  • This will be a Multi Purpose Events Building. The uses include and are not limited to Hockey, and Concerts.  
  • The building will be 188,000 square feet; 6,300 seats for Hockey. 8,600 seat maximum for Concerts and other similar events. 
  • The Center will house 2 Ice Rinks.
  • Located at the intersection of Interstate Highway 75 / Stacy Road. South East Corner.

  • Anticipated Opening Fall 2009.
  • $52.6 million Budget.

Animal Control Facility Expansion

The current animal control facility reaches 100% capacity at least four out of seven days a week. This project is a part of the 2007-2013 Capital Improvement Program and includes expansion of the current facility, which includes office, storage, and animal housing space. Design is anticipated to begin Fall 2008 with completion of the expansion in 2009.

Fire Station #5

Fire Station #5 is part of the 2007-2013 Capital Improvement Program and will be located at the corner of Shallowater Drive and McDermott Drive. This new fire station will provide fire and EMS service to the southwest portion of the city. Construction is anticipated to begin early 2009.

Police Holding Facility Remodel

Increased population necessitates the expansion, through remodeling, of the City's current police holding facility. Expansion improvements include the addition of 5 jail cells. This expansion project is a part of the 2007-2013 Capital Improvement Program. Construction is anticipated to begin October 2008.

Service Center

A new facility is needed to house and support the increasing operations and maintenance functions of the City. This service center is a part of the 2007-2013 Capital Improvement Program and will support street, drainage, traffic, water, sewer, parks and recreation operations, solid waste and recycling services, engineering inspection, fleet maintenance and storage. Construction is anticipated to begin Summer 2009 with completion in 2010.

Public Safety Training Center

The training center will be located on the Service Center site. As part of the 2007-2013 Capital Improvement Program, this center will provide driver training for both emergency and non-emergency City employees. The training center will consist of a driving track, classroom, and storage shed and be collocated with the Service Center.
