The Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.) actively prepares for the delivery of immediate life saving and life sustaining skills to assist residents following a major disaster prior to the availability of first responder services. With training in fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations, C.E.R.T. members are prepared to help their neighborhoods or workplaces following an event that requires large-scale, immediate emergency response. This is just one of many initiatives that benefit the City’s overall readiness to handle emergency situations. Get a look at the Allen Fire Department from the inside out by participating in an upcoming Allen Citizens Fire Academy. Firefighters from throughout the department serve as Academy instructors to provide insight on everything from emergency operations to fire and life safety training. The Public Education & Outreach Division of the Allen Fire Department works closely with local educators to deliver Risk Watch, an injury prevention and natural disaster preparedness program, and other activities such as safety fairs and mobile classroom presentations. The division also maintains a video library for featuring films on fire safety, 9-1-1 awareness and other relevant topics
Apparatus displays are available for schools, preschools, day care centers and special events. Displays are not available at private residences and all display requests must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance.
