Employees receive eight paid holidays per year, including one personal day.

Fire Shift Personnel working more than 40 hours per week accrue the following hours for vacation:

Regular part-time employees shall accumulate vacation in proportion to time worked.
Employees earn 72 hours of sick leave per year. Fire Shift personnel working in excess of 40 hours per week shall accrue 108 hours per year. There is no limit to the amount of sick leave hours accumulated
The City of Allen participates in the Texas Municipal Retirement System. Employees contribute 7% of his or her salary to the program. Upon retirement, the City of Allen will match the employee’s contribution two to one. The City of Allen is also a participant in Social Security.
The City of Allen offers an optional deferred compensation 457 plan in which employees can contribute a portion of their salary, before taxes, to a retirement account.

Employees who have been with the City of Allen at least a year receive $4 per month for every month worked.
