The City of Allen employs more than 620 employees in a variety of areas and functions. Each job is included in a classification that defines its job description and level within the organization. The system of classifications partners with our compensation structure to determine pay levels and ensure that the employees are working and being paid at fair and competitive levels.
The Human Resources Department is responsible for updating and maintaining the City’s compensation structure. This includes conducting market studies to ensure employee compensation is competitive. The City of Allen uses a “point factor” job evaluation system to ensure fairness and internal equity within the organization. The department also responds to salary surveys.
