Mayor Gentry Jones proclaimed Allen Public Library Day on October 22, 1967 when the Allen Public Library first opened its doors as an all-volunteer organization. The library became a City department in 1971. In February 2005, the library opened in its current location at 300 N. Allen Drive.
In addition to a variety of amenities, the current facility includes a convenient drive-thru, drop off box located on the south side of the building, off Coats Drive. Books, videos and other library materials can be returned anytime using the drive-thru.
The library also features a café that is operated by a business vendor. The café offers specialty teas and drinks, sandwiches, sweets and snacks. The café also cater meetings and events. Read More…
