Programs for Adults

Join a book discussion group, take a computer class, check out an art exhibit, or attend one of the many cultural programs offered at the library. We also provide family-oriented and theme-related movie series throughout the year.

Adult learners can access a variety of research and reference databases or reserve group study space if needed. If you are always on the go, try our downloadable audio books available through NetLibrary. Technology Institute at APL - Fall Session

The Allen Public Library offers courses on computer applications and information literacy in our second floor computer lab. Course lengths vary from short one-time mini course sessions to more in-depth multi-session courses. The difficulty levels also vary. We have courses for beginning, intermediate, and more advanced users.
Class sizes are limited, so register early!

Write On! Workshops

Meets every 4th Wednesday & Thursday, 7 p.m., Library Board Room

• Guidance, writing tips & direction
• Pursue your personal writing goals in whatever format you choose

Noontime Pageturners

Meets the first Tuesday, noon to 1 p.m., Library Board Room
Bring a lunch and a friend and join us for a lively discussion! We offer a relaxed environment where you can rediscover the joy of reading.

Meets the second Thursday at 7 p.m., Library Board Room
