Internet Access

Allen Public Library provides Internet access to the public through several workstations. Anyone 18 years and older may use this resource. Minor children must have authorization on their library card application from a parent or guardian in order to use the workstations. Please review the library's Internet Use Policy and Internet Use Guidelines.

Live Homework Help

An online tutoring service available for students in grades 4-12 including college introductory assistance in math, science, language arts, and social studies. TexShare Databases

We are pleased to be able to offer you access to the TexShare Databases. These databases, or electronic sources of information, are paid for by the Texas State Library and the Telecommunications Infrastructure Board. This "Library of Texas" allows users to find full-text articles in encyclopedias, almanacs, journals and newspapers. The databases cover a diverse area of subjects. For instance some of the databases include homework help for students, health information, business information, biography and genealogy information, literature, and information about books and articles. The Texas State Library and Archives Commission allows you to find information within a group of libraries, online collections of journal articles and other information collections with a single search. Materials from the TexShare Databases are included in this searchable database.

Texas Department of State Health Services

The Texas Department of Health Audiovisual Library circulates materials throughout Texas for a short time basis. They have health related ½" VHS video, CD-ROMs, slides, audiocassettes, educational models, charts, and 16mm film. There are some Spanish and bilingual (English and Spanish) materials. There is no charge for Texas residents to borrow from our library except for return shipping charges.
