Volunteering in the summer is the best way to become a school-year volunteer.
Summer Teen Volunteers make programs happen by helping out at the library staff during these busy months. The library uses 140-150 volunteers during the summer. Teen volunteers are used to help with the following activities:
Tech volunteers assist with productions primarily taking place in the Allen Civic Auditorium. Normal duties include setting up and tearing down audio, video, lighting, and staging equipment. Depending on the requirements of each production, volunteers may also assist in operation of equipment.
Some experience is preferable (school / church productions). Teens with a demonstrated interest but no experience are also welcome to apply; however, training opportunities are limited as volunteers are needed according to live productions taking place in the auditorium. Tech volunteers will be placed on an e-mail list and notified of opportunities approximately 1 week before productions occur. Positions are filled on a first-come basis.
To be eligible as a tech volunteer teens must complete a personal interview and return a signed parental consent form
provided at the interview.
