2009 Summer Sounds Concerts

Dance on the lawn, clap your hands to the music or just sit back and relax on a blanket - it's a great way to spend a Monday evening! Join us for the annual free concert series Summer Sounds. Concerts happen every Monday from May 18 through June 22 starting at 7 p.m. at the Joe Farmer Recreation Center Hillside Amphitheatre, 1201 E. Bethany. Attend all the concerts or pick the type of music you like the best. Featured concerts include:

May 18 - Diversion

In the fall of 2002 Diversion was established courtesy of a couple of businessmen and a music student from UNT.  The men were looking for a "diversion" from the 8 to 5 monotony of the business world, wanted a chance to give back to the community and the ability to break away from the norm of the classic rock band.  Diversion wanted to offer their listeners a new genre of the latest and greatest chart-busting songs known as, "today's rock".  Kick off the 2009 Summer Sounds Concert Series with hits from John Mayer, Hootie and the Blowfish, The Eagles and U2 just to name a few!

Summer_SoundsMay 25 - Memorial Day Tribute Event
