Allen Visitor Center

visitor centerCurrently housed at the Allen Heritage Center, 100 E. Main, the center is a stop-off for visitors as they arrive in our community during the weekend and provides information concerning activities, local attractions and amenities along with shopping, dining and lodging information. Operating hours for the visitor center are Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. Map and Directions

Athletic Tournaments

The Parks and Recreation Department hosts and partners with the Allen Sports Association to manage a wide variety of tournaments throughout the year at multiple athletic conferences within the City of Allen.

Chase Oaks Golf Club

In October 2004, the City of Allen assumed ownership of the Chase Oaks Golf Club, a 260-acre course located west of Highway 75 Central Expressway and just north of Chase Oaks Boulevard and Legacy Drive. One of the finest public facilities in the United States, Chase Oaks Golf Club offers 27 holes of championship golf. Designed by architects Robert von Hagge and Bruce Devlin, the courses feature Tiff Eagle Bermuda Greens, tiff fairways, creeks, lakes, hills, and lots of trees. Read More…

Celebration Park

Celebration Park, a 103-acre complex complete with 15 soccer fields, two 300-foot baseball fields and a large multi-sport court, was welcomed in 2003. Among the park’s unique features are kidMania, one of the largest handicap accessible playgrounds in the State of Texas, and a unique spray ground area where children can cool off on those hot summer days. Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium

Allen Parks and Recreation has always been known for its state-of-the-art facilities. In 2002 the City introduced the Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium, a joint venture with the Allen Independent School District. The facility contains 7,000 square feet of leisure waters, a 25-yard by 25-meter competition pool, 5,000 square feet fitness facility, an aerobics room, a climbing wall and other related support facilities. The Edge at Allen Station Park

The Edge at Allen Station Park officially opened its gates on June 4, 2005. Located on the south end of Allen Station Park, the complex features a concrete skate park, two roller-hockey rinks, BMX track and youth center. The skate park is now the largest outdoor facility of its kind in the state.

Outdoor amenities operate as a traditional park facility with hours of operation from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. for all skate areas. BMX track hours are from 8 a.m. to dusk. Use of the outdoor amenities is free and open to the public. Read More…

Historical Driving Tour

The Allen Heritage Guild, along with the City of Allen, the Allen Parks and Recreation Department and the Texas Historical Commission have developed a historical driving tour of Allen. The driving tour includes the Allen Historic Dam and other points of interest in Allen.
