Internal Affairs

The Internal Affairs Unit was created in 1998. The primary duties of this unit are to conduct administrative investigations regarding accusations of employee misconduct, inspect departmental operations for maximum efficiency, ensure compliance with established policies and procedures, conduct background investigations and recruit new officers.

This unit is also responsible for developing new policies and procedures (see General Orders), conducting employment background investigations and administering entry level testing. From January 1, 2006 through December 31, 2006, the three (3) investigators conducted several internal investigations and received over two-hundred commendations complimenting Allen Police Department personnel.
