Junior Police Academy
Overview
The Allen Police Department offers students the opportunity to experience law enforcement first-hand as part of an annual Junior Police Academy summer camp program. Students will learn the basic functions of a working police department. Students will have the opportunity to practice what they learn in practical exercises.
Summer Camp
The 2013 Summer Camp is open to students entering the 7th, 8th, an 9th grades. Each session will be held Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Students can participate in one session only.
Application Process
Students must complete an application, which includes a background check and medical and parental release forms. Students will be chosen in the order that all paperwork is received and upon successful completion of the background check. Classes will be held at Allen High School, located at 300 Rivercrest Boulevard.
