The City of Allen is one of only three cities in Collin County to have its own functional jail. The jail holds individuals with Class C Misdemeanors. Persons wishing to visit a prisoner or to pay a prisoner’s fine or bond must inquire at the front desk at the Allen Police Station. Visitation hours are from 9 to 11 a.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. daily.

Detention Officers' Duties
The detention officers' duties include assisting police officers with prisoners, daily jail operational functions, coordinating transfer of prisoners to other facilities, finger printing and booking in arrestees.
