Water Conservation & Drought Contingency Plan
Water Conservation & Drought Contingency & Water Emergency Response Plan
Recognizing the need for efficient use of existing water supplies, the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has developed guidelines and requirements governing the development of water conservation and drought contingency plans for public water suppliers.

The City Plan
The City of Allen’s current Water Conservation and Drought Contingency and Water Emergency Response Plan for the City of Allen, Texas (City Plan) follows recommendations from the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) and meets the guidelines and requirements of TCEQ.

The City Plan was adopted through Ordinance Number 2760-8-08 on August 12, 2008. The City Plan’s strategies include restricted and modified outdoor watering practices, as well as a rebate program. This guide will provide information on the City Plan and restrictions in regard to water usage.

Stage 3 Water Use Restrictions in Effect
Once weekly watering allowed. No watering between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. See full details at CityOfAllen.org/Water-Conservation.
