The City of Allen recognizes the need for services provided by local community agencies and for this reason makes funds available for public service agencies. These funds are granted to local agencies to address priority needs and objectives identified in the City of Allen Consolidated Plan.

The Public Service Agencies funded for the program Year 2012-2013 are:

Allen Community Outreach (A.C.O.)
A.C.O. will provide Allen residents with emergency financial assistance to help pay their utilities, mortgage payment or rent on a one time basis. For more information, contact A.C.O. at:

The City of Allen will be accepting applications from public service agencies for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Community Support Grant (CSG) funding from May 27th, 2013 until June 14th, 2013. Approximately $80,000 will be available for public services for the October 1, 2013 program year. The projects funded under the CDBG/CSG grant must serve Allen residents. Agencies will have to meet housing and community development needs in the low-income communities as identified in the 2010-2014 Consolidated Plan and meet U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development national objectives:

o Benefiting low-to-moderate income persons
o Eliminating or preventing slum or blight
