Joe Farmer Recreation Center closure week: May 18 – 24
As part of the Allen Parks and Recreation Department’s annually scheduled maintenance, various facilities are closed throughout the year in order to work on equipment, deep clean, touch up paint and to complete various projects as needed. Each facility has a separate closure schedule and occasionally facility closures may overlap. During each respective closure, programs, special events and classes may be canceled, rescheduled or relocated. Please call Allen Parks and Recreation or a specific facility for any questions.

Art Extravaganza - June 13 

Joe Farmer Recreation Center will host Art Extravaganza June 13-14. This free art gallery is open to the public and showcases young and local artists. Interested in submitting your child's artwork? Joe Farmer Recreation Center will accept submissions June 8-11. For more information, refer to the FAQ or call 214.509.4750.

About the Facility

Joe Farmer Recreation Center has a fitness room, full-size gym, two racquetball courts, walking/jogging track, game room, locker rooms, meeting rooms and a hillside amphitheater. Membership is required to use the facility. Find out more about facility amenities. Joe Farmer Recreation Center rules.

The recreation center also offers a variety of youth, adult and pre-school classes and activities. Additional information about fitness classes and wellness activities are available through the STUFF guide. Joe Farmer Recreation Center also hosts ongoing programs such as Saturday Night Rec N Roll.

Entering the Facility
Check-in at the front desk is required each time you visit the center. If you do not have your membership ID card, another form of photo ID is required. Membership cards are required to check out all equipment. Children 6 years and under must be supervised by an adult at all times. Guests must be with member at all times.

Become a Member at Joe Farmer Recreation Center
Annual membership for the Joe Farmer Recreation Center is open to both residents and non-residents. All memberships include free use of Ford Pool during the summer season. 

Resident rates includes City of Allen citizens and employees working for businesses, corporations and organizations in the City of Allen. Proof of residency requires both a current water bill and drivers license. Proof of employment in Allen requires a recent paycheck stub. 

There is a $5 replacement fee for lost or stolen ID cards. Members will be allowed one guest per visit for a $5 fee. Guests without a member may visit for a $7 fee.
