Community Events
Keep Allen Beautiful hosts a variety of community events each year that are designed to benefit the environmental and beautification goals of the organization. Several of the events are hosted in conjunction with annual educational activities and often include opportunities for volunteers to partcipate in community beautification efforts. Details about these events are posted in KAB News & Announcements. For more information about annual community events or volunteer service, call Casey Bennett at 214.509.4555.

Electronic Recycling Days
Periodically throughout the year, Keep Allen Beautiful and the City of Allen provide a safe, environmentally friendly way for Allen residents to dispose of unwanted or obsolete computers and small electronics. Recycling these items instead of sending them to the landfill saves money, conserves valuable resources, and keeps harmful elements out of our environment. For more information, see Electronics Recycling.

Earthfest
Held in the beginning of April each year, Earthfest is a community-wide celebration of the great outdoors. This family friendly event will feature hands-on environmental activities, nature walks and bird watching, kayaking and canoeing demonstrations, wildlife presentations, and much, much more. Earthfest is sponsored by Keep Allen Beautiful, R.E.I. and Montgomery Farm. The entrance to Earthfest will be at the southeast corner of Bethany and Alma. More information is available at connemaraconservancy.org. For more information about this event, click here.

Great American CleanupGreat American Cleanup
This is the largest cleanup and clean out event in Collin County! The Great American Cleanup is a community event held nationwide every April/May encouraging residents to clean-up and clean-out.

Trash of all kinds is accepted while metals, computers, household goods, brush, cardboard and shoes are recycled and kept out of the landfill. Household goods, cell phones, and eyeglasses are accepted for reuse. Paper shredding services are also available.

City and Community Waste Disposal employees are on hand to help unload residents' items. Junior High and High School students needing volunteer hours are encouraged to volunteer in many capacities. For detailed information about this event, please see the city calendar for the event description.

Educator EXPO
In September of each year, the City of Allen and Keep Allen Beautiful roll out the red carpet to showcase all the free educational programs through the City and other county agencies. As part of the event, an annual Education & Outreach Guide is produced with detailed information. Educators will also have an opportunity to meet face-to-face with exhibitors that specialize in specific TEKS requirements and can customize lesson plans for inside or outside the classroom. For detailed information about this event, please see the city calendar for the event description.

National Planting Day
In September, Keep Allen Beautiful and Allen Garden Club host Allen's National Planting Day in cooperation with Keep America Beautiful. The inaugural event in 2012 was designed to celebrate the value and power of native species in restoring ecological balance to the environment, while creating greener, more beautiful communities.

On this day residents are encouraged to make a special effort to plant native species at home and join a volunteer effort to beautify the community. Watch for details about this years beautification project. More information is available by contacting the Allen Garden Club at .

Allen Recycles DayAllen Recycles Day
Allen Recycles Day is an annual event held on a Saturday in the beginning of November. On this day, residents can bring items for reuse and recycling to the City Hall parking lot. Participating organizations are on hand to collect these items.

As part of Allen Recyles Day, Keep Allen Beautiful sponsors a Recycled Art Contest for Allen ISD students, grades K-12. Winners are awarded prizes at a City Council meeting.
