Bulky Item Collection
Bulk trash pick-upAbout
The City of Allen offers monthly pickup for large or bulky items that cannot fit in the 95-gallon trash cart.

Collection Day
Residents must call Community Waste Disposal (CWD) at 972.392.9300 (option 2) by noon on Friday to schedule service for the following Saturday. CWD will collect up to five bulky items, no larger than two men can lift. Items must be ready for pickup by 7 a.m. on Saturday. Find your designated collection day using the schedule below.

Acceptable Items
  • Broken Furniture
  • Household appliances
  • Lawnmowers (with oil & gas removed)
  • Mattresses & Box Springs
  • Outdoor grills
  • Refrigerators & freezers*
  • Televisions               
  • Toys-must be labeled or tagged "bulk trash"
  • Washing machines & dryers
  • Water heaters
  • Yard tools-must be labeled or tagged "bulk trash"
Unacceptable Items
  • Car parts
  • Construction or demolition waste
  • Dead animals over 10 lbs.
  • Excess household trash (boxes or bags)
  • Fence materials
  • Household Hazardous Waste
  • Remodeling materials 
  • Rugs or carpeting over 6-feet in any dimension
  • Tree limbs or trunks
  • Yard trimmings

For additional disposal options, call Community Services at 214.509.4500. Household items that do not fit into the bulk item category can be taken to the Custer Road Transfer Station. Citizens may also contact CWD for a quote on a special collection by calling 972-392-9300 (option 2).

*Freon® or other refrigerant must be removed and certified refrigerant-free by a licensed professional, with the certification tag attached to the appliance to be considered eligible for bulk pick-up.

Rose Rosette Disease - Plant Disposal

  • Diseased roses must be bagged in plastic bags for collection
  • Call CWD (972.392.9300 option 2) or CoA Solid Waste Division (214.509.3100) to set up a rose waste collection
  • Rose waste will be collected on Saturday on the same schedule as bulk trash (see schedule above)
