Are you a member of Joe Farmer Recreation Center and want to increase your comfort level in the fitness area? Join us for a professional advice on current training regimens, learn the basics of cardiovascular training and receive an orientation on the proper usage of the Natilus equipment. facility amenities
The Joe Farmer Recreation Center has a fitness room, full-size gym, two racquetball courts, walking/jogging track, game room, locker rooms, meeting rooms and a hillside amphitheater. The recreation center also offers a variety of youth and adult classes and activities. For a complete list click the online activity guide link above. Friday - 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Saturday - 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday - 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

membership
Annual membership for the Joe Farmer Recreation Center is now open to both residents and non-residents. Adult membership includes full use of the facility including the fitness room. All youth and adult memberships include free use of Ford Pool during the summer season.

Resident rates includes City of Allen citizens and employees working for businesses, corporations and organization in the City of Allen. Proof of residency requires both a current water bill and driver's license. Proof of employment in Allen requires a recent pay check stub.

There is a $5 replacement fee for lost or stolen ID cards. Members will be allowed one guest per visit for a $5 fee.

Annual membership fees for the Joe Farmer Recreation Center are:

entering the facility
Check-in at the front desk is required each time you visit the center. If you do not have your membership ID card, another form of of photo ID is required. Membership cards are required to check out all equipment. Children 6 years and under must be supervised by an adult at all times. Guests must be with member at all times.

gymnasium
The gym features a hardwood floor and six official height basketball goals. The gym is available for open play basketball or volleyball. Basketballs and volleyballs may be checked out at the downstairs desk with a membership ID card.

indoor track
The track is two lanes overlooking the gym (17 laps = 1 mile). Lap counters are available to check out at the front desk with a membership ID card. Please do not stop or stand anywhere on the track. Walkers stay on the inside lane and joggers stay on the outside lane of the track.

racquetball courts
Two courts are available and may be reserved by a member up to 48 hours in advance. Reservations are for one hour, beginning on the hour. Reservations may be made in person or by calling the center. Only one reservation can be made daily. Members using the courts must be 15 years or older. Youth ages 7 to 14 must be accompanied by an adult member. Other play is first come first serve. Racquets, racquetballs, and protective eyewear are available at the counter to check out with a membership ID card. Tuesday nights from 6 to 8 p.m. are reserved for Challenge Court.

fitness room
Cardiovascular machines, weight machines and free weights are available for use by members 16 years of age and older. Youth 14 and 15 years old must be accompanied by an adult member. A membership ID card is required to enter the fitness room. Shirts with sleeves and close-toed shoes must be worn at all times in the fitness room.

game room
Game room includes ping pong, billiards and fooseball. All equipment may be checked out at the downstairs desk with a membership ID card. There is a 30 minute time limit on equipment use.
