Community Involvement
The main function of the Community Relations Unit's is to develop relationships between citizens,
businesses and the police department. In 2006, the Community Relations Unit conducted 285 inspections of tobacco retailers, issued 18 citations for tobacco related violations and conducted 38 alcohol and tobacco training sessions. The unit also participated in 14 ribbon cuttings,
conducted 32 tours of the police department, and checked the
installation of 58 child car seats.
