Projects are presented for funding consideration at an annual Town Hall meeting in March. The Town Hall provides an opportunity for the public to provide input on projects. Staff also recommend projects identified through the master planning process and resident surveys.

Duties


In May 1996, the citizens of Allen approved a city-wide half-cent sales tax in support of a community development corporation. Allen Community Development Corporation  (ACDC) administers the proceeds from the tax for land, buildings, equipment, and improvements that are suitable for professional and amateur athletics, entertainment and tourism, parks, trails and public spaces, transportation, and other projects that promote new or expanded business enterprises. Expenditures are subject to the provisions of the Development Corporation Act of 1979.
