HHW Reuse Center

The City of Allen partners with the City of Plano to offer residents reusable household chemicals. The chemicals are available free of charge at the City of Allen Chemical Reuse Center or at Plano's Household Chemical Reuse Center. Residents must show current City of Allen utility bill and Texas driver's license with matching addresses. These facilities are not intended for commercial or business use.

The Chemical Reuse Centers are not licensed to accept HHW materials dropped off by residents.  Please schedule collection.

Volunteer opportunities

Hours of Operation*

  • Thursday: Noon to 2 p.m.
  • 1st and 3rd Saturdays: 10 a.m. to Noon

2018 Holiday Schedule

In observance of the holidays and availability of staff, the Chemical Reuse Center will be closed on the following dates:

4th of July: Thursday, July 5
Thanksgiving Week and Weekend: November 22 - 25:
Christmas Week and Weekend: December 22 - 28
New Year’s Week and Weekend: December 29. The Chemical Reuse Center will reopen on January 3.

Regularly Available Products

Allen residents may access any products collected in the HHW program, except banned chemicals and gasoline. Regularly available products include:
  • Garden products (herbicides, insecticides and pesticides)
  • Household cleansers
  • Paint (latex and oil-based)
    • Conservation Colors, a recycled latex paint with a viscosity of 30 is also available for free. This paint is appropriate for all painting applications and comes in a limited variety of colors. It is screened and is usable with spray painting equipment when thinned.
  • Pet products
  • Pool chemicals
  • Repair products
