Allen residents have access to many resources for financial and emotional assistance. The agencies and programs listed below provide services and outreach efforts in Allen.

Allen Community Outreach

Allen Community Outreach helps families with household bills, groceries from the Allen Food Pantry, clothing and housewares from the ACO Resale Shop and school supplies for children. They also run holiday programs providing holiday meals for those in need of emergency assistance.

Meals on Wheels of Collin County

Meals on Wheels serves the elderly residents of Collin County by delivering meals to homes and senior centers. It is a division of the Collin County Committee on Aging.

Allen Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry

The Allen Food Pantry is supported by the Allen Ministerial Alliance which is made up of Christian churches in the communities of Allen, Fairview and Lucas Texas and operates as a strict non-profit organization that is 100% volunteer based.

Collin County Rides

The City of Allen is continuing to partner with DART to provide transportation options for seniors and residents with disabilities through a taxi voucher system called Collin County Rides. Learn more.

Assistance Center of Collin County

The Assistance Center of Collin County helps people in need connect with programs to help them. It also administers funds from grants and community donations and works with reduced-cost prescription programs.

LifePath Systems

LifePath Systems is a community-based, non-profit organization created specifically to help individuals and their families dealing with mental illnesses, intellectual disabilities and developmental delays.It collaborates extensively with the 38 other community mental health centers in Texas to ensure the best possible care for Texans.

Children's Advocacy Center

The Collin County Children's Advocacy Center works with a multi-disciplinary team to investigate, treat and prosecute child abuse cases. It also provides a safe place for children to tell their stories and begin to heal.

Hope's Door

Hope's Door is a shelter and counseling center. It offers comprehensive programs and services designed to help break the cycle of domestic abuse.

Help for Homeowners

Allen homeowners may apply for the Home Repair Assistance Program, which provides funding to revitalize older neighborhoods. It is funded by the federal government and offered as a part of the Community Development Block Grant program.

Wellness Center for Older Adults

The Wellness Center for Older Adults serves older adults, 55 years of age and older, and their caregivers in Collin County and surrounding areas. The mission of the Wellness Center is "to assist older adults in achieving their highest levels of physical, mental, and spiritual well-being." Their work and passion is to assist older adults in healthy and independent living, allowing seniors to age in place gracefully.
