The City of Allen’s outdoor warning siren system consists of 14 sirens placed strategically throughout the city to alert those outside of severe weather conditions.
While the warning siren system is an effective method of outdoor notification, the City of Allen highly recommends each home and business have other means to receive warnings and notifications. The ability to hear the sirens indoors depends on a variety of factors including proximity to a siren, wind direction, and other environmental noise.
Warning and notification can be monitored through online weather sources, local media outlets (television and radio), an NOAA National Weather Service radio and by observing sky conditions. Please do not rely exclusively on the outdoor warning siren system for severe weather alerting when indoors.
