Council members approved a zoning change to accommodate a 91-unit townhouse development southeast of Main Street and Greenville Avenue. The townhouses will feature stone and brick exteriors with cedar garage doors and decorative concrete driveways. They will be screened from surrounding roadways by an 8-foot masonry fence.
The townhouses will fill an open lot sandwiched between CVS and Victoria Gardens. The lot was previously zoned for two separate uses. In January, Allen’s Planning and Zoning Commission recommended changing the zoning to accommodate the townhouse project.
The city offered an opportunity for public comment during the council meeting on June 23, but no residents addressed the council with comments or concerns.
