Allen residents can weigh in on the City’s proposed tax rate and budget during two upcoming public hearings.
The proposed tax rate of $0.537000 per $100 is a reduction in the current property tax rate of $0.540000 per $100. Despite the lowered rate, a combination of new taxable properties and increased appraisal values will increase the City’s total tax intake by $4,327,829 or 8.71%. See official tax rate notice.
Citizens can comment on the proposed budget or property tax rate as part of the public hearings on Tuesday, Aug. 11 or Tuesday, Aug. 25 at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Allen City Hall (305 Century Parkway). As part of the public hearings, highlights of the proposed budget will be presented.
