Council members voted to amend development regulations for Stacy Village during the city council meeting on Oct. 13. The retail, restaurant and medical office complex is planned for the northeast corner of Watters and Stacy.
An earlier concept plan, approved in 2012, divided the property into four lots for retail, restaurant and office use. The plan approved by council members would divide the property into two lots and remove an earlier provision for a drive-through.
The developer also submitted new designs for the exterior of the building, which would echo the architectural style of existing shopping centers on the southeast corner of Watters and Stacy. A screening wall, trees and shrubbery would provide visual separation from homes in the Star Creek neighborhood, which borders the Stacy Village property on the north and east.
Both city staff and the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval. Council members voted unanimously in favor of the new regulations.
