Give yourself an extra ten minutes when getting ready to head out on the road. You can set your alarm ten minutes earlier, pack lunches the night before or wait until you get to work to check your email. Whatever you decide to do, saving a few extra minutes before you leave will help you avoid rushing – or speeding – to get to where you need to go.

“This is not about writing more speeding tickets,” said Sgt. Jason Erter with the Allen Police Department. “We want to prevent an accident – hopefully, save a life.”

Allen Police have stepped up efforts to help make our roadways and drivers safer. As part of the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) grant through Texas Department of Transportation, the Allen Police Department have implemented some extra enforcement activities to address speeding and drunk driving.
