[ARCHIVED] Allen Police Need Your Help in Attempted Burglary of Car

attempted car burglary

On Monday, February 2, surveillance video captured persons of interest targeting unlocked vehicles parked in driveway alleys. Allen Police want to remind everyone of the importance of locking cars and removing valuables. See below for statement released by Allen Police.

On Monday, February 2, 2016 at approximately 12:10 a.m, a vehicle was caught on video surveillance traveling west through the alley at 1209 Lakewood Dr. One individual is seen exiting the car and pulling on the door handles of the vehicles in the driveway. The driver can be seen exiting at 634 Lakewood. The interior lights come on and the vehicle appears to be empty.

The vehicle of interest appears to be an older model two door with a third brake light low in the rear window. On the passenger side, the front wheel appears to be darker than the rear wheel, possibly indicating a missing hubcap. The Allen Police Department is seeking your help in identifying these individuals as persons of interest in an attempted burglary of a vehicle and potentially other burglaries. As can be seen in the video, these persons of interest are targeting unlocked vehicles.

The Allen Police Department wants to stress the importance of locking your vehicles and removing valuable items. Anyone with information should contact Corporal Mayfield in the Criminal Investigations Division at 214.509.4255.
