A plan to build single-family homes along Ridgeview Drive has been approved by Allen City Council. Council members voted on Feb. 23 to change the zoning on 4.25 acres west of Twin Creeks Drive to accommodate single-family homes instead of townhomes. The property will be split into 27 lots and 0.5+ acres of open space.
“With the nice neighborhoods adjacent to it to the south and to the west, we thought that this might be an opportunity to do something a little bit higher level, a little bit lower density than the existing townhome [zoning] there,” said developer Curtis Young with The Sage Group.
The 2,200+ sq. ft. homes will feature stone, brick and stucco finishes, along with decorative garages and aggregate driveways. The developer will also create an open space amenity area within the development with paths, benches and landscaping. Ornamental fencing and additional trees will provide screening from flood plains and neighboring homes to the south of the property.
