The new campaign, dubbed #AllenHashtagAlong, will take residents on a virtual field trip of Allen city facilities. A different city department will be highlighted each month.
The live tweeting will begin around 9 a.m. and last through early afternoon. Each #AllenHashtagAlong will also be cataloged on a website called Storify, which will assemble the posts in a blog-like format for future readers.
The city’s Public and Media Relations Office decided to launch the new campaign on June 30 to coincide with Social Media Day.
Residents may ask questions about library operations via Twitter by tagging their post #AllenHashtagAlong.
