If your American flag is showing wear and tear, here’s how you can retire it with honor.
Allen’s Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2195 is collecting flags for a dignified disposal. Residents may drop off American flags at two depository boxes in Allen:
• Fire Station #4 parking lot (615 N. Alma Drive)
• Blue House Gallery parking lot (102 S. Allen Drive)
According to federal law, the United States flag should be destroyed in a “dignified way” when it is in a condition that is no longer a fitting emblem for display.
