Allen City Television received an impressive list of awards following recent state and national conferences.
The Texas Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisers (TATOA) honored the station with a first-place prize for Overall Excellence in Government Programming in its budget category. The honor was one of five awards Allen City Television (ACTV) earned at the 2016 TATOA conference, including:
• Best use of Web for AllenTV.org• First place for bulletin board• First place for magazine format series (“Take 5”)
•Second place for interview/talk show (“Inside the Mind of a Thief”)
ACTV collected even more honors at the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisers (NATOA) conference, including third place for programming excellence in its budget category. The other prizes include:
• First place for event/program promotion (“Make Your Mark on the Animal Shelter Walls”)• First place for seniors (“ACTV Spotlight: Circling the World”)
• First place for editing• Second place for instruction/training (“KAB Presents: Keeping You Safe”)
• Second place for arts and entertainment (“Work of Art: Fete des Beaux Arts”)• Second place for news series (“Take 5”)
• Second place for (bulletin boards)• Second place for ( video journalism)
• Third place for interview/talk show ( “Inside the Mind of a Thief”)• Third place for public safety ("#KidDubs: Move to the Right for Sirens and Lights”)
• Third place for community awareness (“Golfing for SafeTEE”)• Third place for use of humor (“Allen Recycles Day”)
