A new Allen neighborhood will put residents within walking distance of a major shopping and dining hub.
A zoning change has paved the way for St. Andrews Park, a development of 62 homes to be located south of Andrews Parkway near the Village at Allen. The land was previously zoned for a shopping center; council members approved the change during the Nov. 8 meeting.
The front-entry lots will feature stone, brick and stucco exteriors with carriage-style garage doors. Both one- and two-story designs will be offered. Homes will be no smaller than 1,550 square feet, garages not included.
Developers will add crosswalk striping along Andrews Parkway to create a safer connection to The Village at Allen. An eight-foot screening wall will be added between the development and Top Golf to increase privacy.
Construction is expected to begin by spring 2017.
