[ARCHIVED] Flags Flown at Half-Staff for National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day

National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day

On National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, we pay tribute to the men, women, and children -- military and civilian -- who lost their lives on December 7, 1941, honor all who served in the wake of that infamous day, and recognize the sacrifices today's service members make to carry forward the torch of liberty for generations to come. On this day, Wednesday, December 7, 2016, the United States flag shall be flown at half-staff throughout the United States and its Territories and possessions from sunrise to sunset.

All State of Texas flags and City of Allen flags should be flown at half-staff for the same period of time since no flag is permitted to fly higher than the United States flag. All agencies, political subdivisions, and public and private entities are encouraged to follow this order and fly all flags at half-staff during this period.
