The City of Allen has continued its winning streak with the National Procurement Institute. The city’s Purchasing Division received the 2016 Excellence in Procurement Award, which recognizes ethics, innovation and best practices among North American cities. Allen is one of only 71 cities in North America to receive the 2016 award.
Members of the Purchasing Division staff presented Allen City County members with the award during the Dec. 6 meeting. It is their sixteenth consecutive win.
Award recipients must demonstrate professionalism and productivity. Members of the City of Allen purchasing staff are active in professional organizations, including the Collin County Governmental Purchases Forum and the Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter of the National Institute for Governmental Purchasing.
The City of Allen Purchasing Division is responsible for the procurement of goods and services required to operate and maintain all departments within the City of Allen.
