[ARCHIVED] Citizens Police Academy Now Accepting Applications

Try on SWAT gear, drive a police car and learn about the different divisions of the Allen Police Department in a free class offered this spring.

The 12-week course provides residents an opportunity to meet with officers from various units including K-9, SWAT, Patrol, Criminal Investigations and Crime Scene. The officers will give talks on their field of expertise.

Citizens will learn how the Allen Police Department trains K-9s, investigates traffic accidents, busts drug deals and more. Crime scene investigation, use of force training and more will also be covered during hands-on sessions.

Allen Police are now taking applications for the Spring 2017 Citizens Police Academy (CPA). Classes begin Thursday, March 2, from 6-9 p.m. at the Allen Police Training Facility (802 South Greenville Avenue).
