[ARCHIVED] What We're Reading

April Book Club Books

We offer three different types book discussion groups that cater to all interests.  Find the group that's right for you and join us for a discussion!

Here's what we're reading in April:

Wednesday, April 5 - Noontime Pageturners - People of the Book by Geraldine Brooks.  Summary:  Offered a coveted job to analyze and conserve a priceless Sarajevo Haggadah, Australian rare-book expert Hanna Heath discovers a series of tiny artifacts in the volume's ancient binding that reveal its historically significant origins.

Tuesday, April 18 - Let's Talk Dewey:  Julia Child and French Cooking - Choose any book about Julia Child or French cooking.

Wednesday, April 19 - Ladies Night Out Book Club - My Name is Lucy Barton by Elizabeth Strout.  Summary:  Lucy Barton is recovering slowly from what should have been a simple operation. Her mother, to whom she hasn't spoken for many years, comes to see her. Gentle gossip about people from Lucy's childhood in Amgash, Illinois, seems to reconnect them, but just below the surface lies the tension and longing that have informed every aspect of Lucy's life: her escape from her troubled family, her desire to become a writer, her marriage, her love for her two daughters.
