A new urban residential center is coming to northwest Allen, offering new places to shop, eat and live. The 60-acre site, located on the southeast corner of Custer Road and Sam Rayburn Tollway, is Allen’s first major development along the SH 121 corridor.
Cornerstone Village will feature 44 acres of retail and restaurant space, including at least one major anchor store. Sidewalks will connect shops and restaurants to three urban living residential buildings. Units will range from one to three bedrooms.
In order to ensure a continued mixture of shopping, dining and living spaces, developers must begin construction on at least one-third of the retail and restaurant spaces before building any urban residential units.
Cornerstone Village will be accessible from both Custer Road and the SH 121 frontage road. New turn lanes and a future traffic light are planned for Custer Road to improve traffic flow.
Allen City Council unanimously approved the development plans during the April 11 meeting.
