Bo Bass, City of Allen Community Development Director, will depart Allen in June after nine years of service with the City. He will begin a new job as Assistant City Manager for League City, Texas on June 12.
Under his leadership, the City of Allen streamlined its development review process and refined building specifications to improve the quality of new projects, from apartments to retail centers to single-family neighborhoods.
“Bo’s proactive personality led to better partnerships with both the school district and the development community,” said Allen City Manager Peter Vargas. “His expert guidance helped us distinguish Allen as a city of high-quality development.”
Prior to joining the City of Allen, Bass worked as Assistant City Manager in North Richland Hills and Deputy City Manager in Bedford. He holds a certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners and currently serves as an adjunct professor at The University of Texas at Arlington.
During his tenure in Allen, Bass served the local community through various organizations, including the Foundation for Allen Schools, Allen Eagle Scholars and ArtSparks.
Residents are invited to join Bass’s friends, family and coworkers to celebrate his successful career in Allen. A reception will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7 in the basement conference rooms at Allen City Hall.
