With dove season opening Sep. 1, Allen Police want to remind hunters about state restrictions on firearms use in the City of Allen and Collin County.
Hunters must obtain permission of property owners before using their land for hunting purposes. They must also ensure that they are at least 1,000 feet from schools, hospitals and day care facilities and at least 600 feet from residential housing and multi-family residences.
Residents are encouraged to call the Allen Police non-emergency dispatch at 214.509.4321 if they feel that safe and reasonable distances are not being followed by hunters.
